⛩ The Survey Corps is one of three Army branches making up the Paradise Army, along with the Garrison and Special Operations Squads.
As its name suggests, it's a section specialized in investigations, patrols, and external expeditions beyond the Walls regarding Titans, their origins and the study of possibilities for their extermination. It is therefore considered a suicide unit since humans are supposed to be "powerless" against Titans.
Since the Fall of Shiganshina, the Survey Corps has aimed to restore to humanity the freedom it once lost during the Titans' invasion and the destruction of Wall Maria.
This is why their emblem represents two wings, called the "wings of freedom". Following the revelation in Eren's basement, the Survey Corps turned its attention to the outside world and more specifically to the Marleyan people.
