Refund policy

Return Policy - Anime Figures Otakyo

Returns

We accept returns and we are committed to simplifying the process by refunding you in the form of store credit within a maximum of 45 days from the date of your claim. Please note that if 30 days have elapsed since your purchase, we unfortunately will not be able to offer you a refund or exchange.

Return Conditions

  • The returned item must be unused, in perfect condition and in its original packaging.
  • Promotional products cannot be returned, except in the case of receiving a damaged product.
  • Gift cards are not eligible for return.
  • To initiate a return, a receipt or proof of purchase is mandatory.
  • Do not return your purchase directly to the manufacturer.

Partial Refund Cases

A partial refund may be granted in certain situations:

  • An item returned that is not in its original condition (damaged or with missing parts for reasons beyond our control).
  • Any item returned after 30 days following delivery may be subject to a partial refund.

Refunds in the Form of Store Credit (if applicable)

Once we have received and inspected the returned item, we will notify you by email of the acceptance or rejection of your refund request.
If approved, your request will be processed, and a store credit will be automatically applied as a credit to your account within a maximum of 7 days.

Delayed or Missing Refunds

If you have not yet received your refund:

  1. First check your bank account.
  2. Contact the issuer of your credit card, as processing delays may apply.
  3. Contact your bank to confirm the refund has been processed.
  4. If after these checks you still have not received your refund, contact us at contact@anime-figures-otakyo.com.

Sale Items

Our return policy includes exclusively the provision of store credit, and not cash refunds.

  • Regular-priced items: eligible for store credit according to our return policy.
  • Sale items: items with discounts are not refundable, except in case of defect or non-conformity.
  • Promotional codes: orders with a discount via promo code are subject to the same return conditions as regular-priced items.

We respect consumer rights while aligning our refund policy with applicable legal practices.

Subscription Box Products

Our subscription boxes contain randomly selected items, with a total value exceeding the amount paid.

  • Boxes cannot be returned or exchanged, except in case of proven defect on a product or delivery error.
  • The right of withdrawal does not apply to opened boxes, in accordance with applicable consumer protection laws.
  • Subscription cancellation: the customer may cancel their subscription before the renewal date by contacting our customer service.

Exchanges (if applicable)

We replace an item only if it is defective or damaged.

Gifts

  • If the returned item was a gift (sent directly by the purchaser), a gift card will be sent to you upon receipt of the return.
  • If the item was not identified as a gift, the refund will be made to the gift giver.

  • Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer.
  • Shipping costs are not refundable.
  • If you return an item worth more than $75, we recommend using a tracking service or purchasing shipping insurance.
  • We do not guarantee receipt of returned items.

Package Insurance

  • Packages are insured against loss and damage up to the declared value with the carrier.
  • A loss is confirmed only when the carrier confirms the actual loss of the package.
  • A delivery confirmed by the carrier will be considered valid, unless proven otherwise.
  • Damage must be clearly proven to be related to transport or our responsibility.

If a package is lost or damaged, we are committed to sending you the items at our expense or offering you store credit of a value exceeding your original order.

Right of Withdrawal

In accordance with applicable consumer protection laws, you have a period of 14 days to exercise your right of withdrawal after receiving your order.

🔹 Return conditions under the right of withdrawal:

  • Items must be in their original condition, unused, unwashed, undamaged, with all their accessories and packaging.
  • Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer.

Limits to the Right of Withdrawal

  • Non-abusive use: the right of withdrawal must be exercised in a reasonable and legitimate manner.
  • Orders in transit: an order being shipped cannot be canceled.
  • Customized or specific products: certain items cannot be returned.

🔹 Absence of right of withdrawal for certain products:
According to applicable consumer protection laws, the right of withdrawal does not apply to:

  • Customized or made-to-order products.
  • Items susceptible to rapid deterioration.
  • Products unsealed after delivery (e.g. hygiene or food items).
  • Items that have been used or consumed even partially.
