⛩ The Survey Corps is one of three military branches that make up the Paradise Army, along with the Garrison and Special Operations Squads.
As its name suggests, it is a section specialized in investigations, patrols and external expeditions outside the Walls regarding Titans, their origin and the study of possibilities for their extermination. It is therefore considered a suicide unit since humans are supposed to be "powerless" against Titans, and an average of 30% of personnel die during operations.
Since the Fall of Shiganshina, the Survey Corps has aimed to restore to humanity the freedom it once lost during the Titan invasion and the destruction of Wall Maria. This is why their insignia represents two wings, called "wings of freedom". Following the revelation in Eren's basement, the Survey Corps turned its attention to the outside world and more specifically to the Marleyan people.
