He holds the title of " Greatest swordsman in the entire world " and was the trainer of Zoro Roronoa during the 2-year timeskip. He was previously known by the nickname "soldier hunter".
He is also the third antagonist of the Baratie Arc after Don Krieg and Gin , one of the main antagonists of the Marineford Arc where he participated in the Battle of Marineford and sided with the Navy, along with most of the other Warlords of the Sea.
