⛩The Survey Corps is one of three Military Branches that comprise the Paradise Island Army, alongside the Garrison and the Military Police Brigade. As its name suggests, it's a section specialized in investigations, patrols and external expeditions beyond the Walls regarding Titans, their origin and the study of possibilities for their extermination. It is therefore considered a suicidal unit since human beings are supposed to be "powerless" against Titans, and an average of 30% of personnel perish during operations.
Since the Fall of Shiganshina, the Survey Corps has aimed to restore to humanity the freedom it once lost during the Titan invasion and the destruction of Wall Maria. This is precisely why their emblem represents two wings, called the "wings of freedom". Following the revelation in Eren's basement, the Survey Corps turned its attention to the outside world and more specifically to the Marleyan people.
