⛩ The God Hand are the main antagonists of the Berserk manga. They are very enigmatic and mysterious characters about whom very little is known.
The God Hand are the fruits of causality and appear to be chosen in advance. They were previously human beings who possessed a purple behelit that they could not separate from. Every 216 years, the purple behelits are activated by the blood of their possessor in a moment of great despair and open a new dimension deep within the astral world in which eclipses take place, ceremonies resulting in the coming of a new God Hand following a great sacrifice of the people closest to them in order to make them lose all humanity.
The lives of the sacrificed, often those of loved ones, are then offered to the creatures of darkness and ritually murdered. In the case of God Hand members, the life force of the deceased is used to complete the transition of the invoker.
