⛩ The Dragonslayer is the immense sword of Guts . According to legend, a king ordered that he be given a sword so powerful it would be able to kill a dragon. A blacksmith named Godo decided to forge the Dragonslayer, but it was so heavy and imposing that no soldier could wield it. The king took this creation as an insult and banished the blacksmith and his sword.
Guts gets his hands on it when he fights an apostle at Godo's. Indeed, his old weapon having broken during the fight, Guts seized the Dragonslayer to defeat the apostle. This immense sword looks more like a "slab of steel too big, too heavy and too crude to be a sword", according to the narration. Schierke will also notice that the weapon exudes an aura of death and that it is close to a demonic blade. This is because the Dragonslayer has slain a great number of apostles, and has become saturated with their supernatural blood. It is capable of killing and cutting enormous apostles in two.
