⛩ The Béherit , also called "Egg of the King" or "Egg of the Conqueror", is a "stone" the size and shape of an egg but equipped with a mouth, a nose and two eyes, which are arranged on it in a chaotic manner.
From time to time, an eye opens to look at the one or ones who handle the stone. According to legend, whoever wears the Béherit will rule over the entire world at the price of his life and blood.
There are two types of Béherit : the grey ones, normal, and the red vermillion ones, which only exist in five copies. The grey ones allow their wearers to become Apostles, the red ones become God Hand.
A Béherit has been chosen for a specific individual and it will attach itself to that person. Even if they lose it, the Béherit will eventually find them at the right time. An inactive Béherit generally protects its wearer by increasing their luck, however, a wearer will have growing ambition, which will generally lead to their downfall.
In Berserk, Griffith is the wearer of the last Béherit Vermillion , the strongest of all. This Béherit protects him, but at the same time drives him to acts of excessive ambition, even greater than that of normal Apostles and which is destined to rule over the world, as his dream dictates.⛩
