⛩ Brook, nicknamed Brook the Humming Skeleton is the musician as well as the second swordsman (after Zoro) of the Straw Hat Crew. He is a living skeleton they met aboard a ghost ship after finding a mysterious barrel drifting on the ocean. He is a Devil Fruit user, he has the powers of the Resurrection Fruit. He is an undead returned to life in a state of pseudo-immortality thanks to the powers of this fruit, this fruit not being the cause of his current appearance. He is the ninth member of the Straw Hat Crew and the eighth member to accept joining Luffy's crew. Brook is the musician that Luffy has long wanted since the beginning of his adventures, and which he has mentioned several times throughout the series.
He was formerly part of the Rumbar Crew and was appointed captain of the remaining crew after captain Yorki split it to save survivors from a disease. Brook is particularly close to the whale Laboon and was the one who carried the final song of his crew, a song that was to be delivered to the whale, recorded on a Tone Dial, before they all died killed by poisoned arrows. Before that, he was the leader of a battle convoy from an unidentified kingdom. He dies from poison.
