Nearly five centuries ago in the Sengoku era, Kokushibo was a human named Michikatsu Tsugikuni , a former demon slayer and the older twin brother of Yoriichi Tsugikuni .
Kokushibo is also the ancestor of Muichiro Tokito and Yuichiro Tokito and the one who transformed the elder brother of Zenitsu Agatsuma, Kaigaku into a demon and joined the Twelve Demon Moons.
