⛩ The Phantom Brigade is a world-renowned group of thieves who hold an A-Class bounty. Most members are from Meteor City. The group ideally consists of a total of thirteen members, who are all highly skilled Nen users, but sometimes throughout the story it has fewer members.

Each member has a tattoo of a spider with a number on their body. Those who wish to join the brigade can do so by killing a current member, replacing them. In the event of a member's death or other causes, the leader of the Brigade, Chrollo Lucilfer takes care of replacing them. The Brigade is the main antagonist of the York Shin City arc and as secondary antagonists of the overall series.

One of their crimes was the massacre of the Kurta clan, the family of Kurapika , hired solely to obtain the scarlet eyes of the Kurta clan. Despite their crimes, they occasionally do philanthropic work, and seem to be a major asset to the military force of Meteor City.
