⛩ Twelve years before the start of the series, Kyûbi (The nine-tailed demon fox) attacked the village Konoha destroying a large part of the village and taking many lives. The village leader, the Fourth Hokage, sacrificed his life to seal the Demon in a newborn, Naruto Uzumaki .
Orphaned by the attack, Naruto was avoided by the villagers, who, out of fear and anger, considered him Kyûbi himself. Although the Third Hokage had forbidden talking about anything concerning Kyûbi, the children – following the example of their parents – inherited the same animosity toward Naruto .
In his desire to be recognized, Naruto swore that one day he would become the greatest Hokage the village had ever seen.
