⛩Twelve years before the start of the series, Kyûbi (The nine-tailed fox demon) attacked the village Konoha destroying a large part of the village and taking many lives. The village leader, the Fourth Hokage, sacrificed his life to seal the Demon in a newborn, Naruto Uzumaki .
Orphaned by the attack, Naruto was avoided by the villagers, who, out of fear and anger, considered him as Kyûbi himself. Although the Third Hokage had forbidden speaking about anything concerning Kyûbi, the children – taking example from their parents – inherited the same animosity towards Naruto .
In his desire to be recognized, Naruto swore that he would one day become the greatest Hokage the village had ever seen.
