⛩ Shunsui Sôzôsuke Jirô Kyôraku was the 8th Captain of the 13 Divisions and also one of the oldest, from the very first class of the Shin'ō Academy, alongside his friend Jūshirō Ukitake . After the death of his master, Yamamoto, Kyōraku is appointed to fill the vacant role and becomes the second Captain General of the 13 Divisions.
Kyôraku is one of the oldest and most powerful shinigamis; he has held his position for 210 years,or even more while most hold it for only 100 years. He is one of the rare captains that Yamamoto recognizes as talented. Kyôraku has excellent mastery of Shunpô and the Zanpakutō . His Shunpo allows him to move Nanao far from his combat zone and return almost instantly, which earned him praise from the captain-commander. He masters the handling of the Zanpakutô very well because he faces Stark with his shikai while all other captains faced an Espada with their bankai.
