Tengen Uzui is a major secondary character in Demon Slayer : Kimetsu no Yaiba and a major character in the Entertainment District Arc. He is a demon slayer of the Demon Slayer Corps and the current Sound Pillar .
Tengen is an eccentric and flashy individual, always wanting to be " flamboyant ". He is generally seen speaking with boastfulness, proclaiming that he is "a god" before Tanjiro , Zenitsu and Inosuke and asking them to treat him as such. Apart from that, Tengen displays a carefree and energetic attitude, never letting any doubts or weaknesses show through.
However, Tengen also has a kind side that is masked under his flamboyant facade, which he only shows to those who are extremely close to him, namely his three wives, Makio , Suma and Hinatsuru . Tengen states that they must value their lives above all others because they are precious to him. After the events of the Entertainment District Arc, Tengen also becomes friendlier towards Tanjiro .
Tengen uses a breathing technique that he developed himself, Sound Breathing , which is in his image " Flamboyant ". Thanks to his enhanced sense of hearing, he uses a combat strategy called « score », which consists of reading the movements of his opponents and deconstructing them into sound by analyzing the rhythm of their movements. He notably uses his modified bombs to couple them with his breathing technique.
In addition to his Sound Breathing , Tengen can rely on his superhuman physique as well as his insensitivity to pain and normal poisons that he retained from his past as a shinobi .
Tengen possesses 2 familiars who are responsible for transporting his weapons if needed or assisting him in his spy missions. These 2 familiars are highly trained mice.
