⛩ Guts known as "The Black Swordsman" , is a former mercenary and marked vagabond who travels the world in a constant internal struggle between pursuing his own goals and maintaining his attachments to those dear to him.
Chapter 1, named "The Black Swordsman" is the 1stepisode of the manga series Berserk .
The episode begins with Guts facing a group of bandits,eliminating them easily with his massive sword, the Dragonslayer.He then heads to a tavern where he is confronted by a nobleman who tries to have him arrested for disturbing the peace. Guts quickly gets rid of the nobleman's guards and leaves the tavern,leaving the latter to question his own power.
The episode then turns to Guts' past,showing him as a young boy raised by a band of mercenaries.He is trained in combat from a young age and quickly becomes a skilled warrior. However,he also witnesses the brutality of war and the dark side of humanity.
The episode ends with Guts marked with a seal that attracts evil spirits.This mark is a curse that will haunt him for the rest of his life.
