⛩ Guts and the Band of the Hawk are finally knighted knights after the victory against the Tudor Empire, against whom Midland had been at war for a hundred years. Guts kills the general commander of the Tudor armies and Griffith settles a personal debt by killing the enemy king.

Guts decides nevertheless to leave the Hawks, Zodd's advice and his own feelings telling him to distance himself from Griffith. Griffith does not accept this and challenges Guts to a duel again, but is defeated.

Guts leaves the group, but upon learning that his old friend is captured by the King, he rejoins the Band again, now led by Casca, and will free him, not without having slaughtered the Bakiraka troops and Wyald's troops in the process.

Unfortunately, the Griffith who emerges from the King's dungeons bears little resemblance to the Hawk of old, wounded in flesh and soul, he is completely desperate and neither Guts nor Casca manage to comfort him. The Band will finally meet its end when Griffith, cornered, releases the power of the Behelit and sacrifices himself, being reborn as the new king of demons: Femto.
