⛩ Meruem , meaning " The light that illuminates all ", is the King of the Chimera Ants and as such, he is also considered the most powerful of the Chimera Ants that have ever existed. He is also the son of the Queen, whom he will mortally wound at his birth. As soon as he was born, Meruem killed two of his servants, one because he wanted to save the queen, the other simply wanting to help him.

He thus demonstrates striking cruelty and power from his birth because he did not hesitate to kill and then eat his servant, but also because he discovered from a very young age normal feelings for human beings but incomprehensible to him, born to feel no emotion.

Meruem is the most powerful chimera ant and is considered one of the most powerful characters shown in the series. Even before his absorption of Youpi and Pufu , Meruem is already extremely resistant. He easily resisted thousands of attacks launched against him by Netero , one of the most powerful human fighters in the world, without suffering the slightest scratch.
