⛩ Kagome Higurashi, one of the main characters in this story, is a young girl of about fifteen years old, living in the current world. One day, she fell into a well that was part of the temple where she lived, and found herself in feudal Japan. She is the reincarnation of the priestess (miko) Kikyo and possesses the legendary Shikon no tama (the sacred jewel). It was she who freed InuYasha from the curse that Kikyo had cast on him that pinned him to a tree.
Kagome accidentally shatters the jewel into hundreds of fragments that scatter throughout Japan. With InuYasha , she had to collect all the fragments of the Shikon no tama before they fell under the evil influence of the demon Naraku.
Kagome is a cheerful young girl, full of good humor but who can get angry easily, especially against InuYasha . She enjoys playing matchmaker by getting involved in others' love stories.
