⛩ Goldorak is a gigantic extraterrestrial war machine in two parts, very heavily armed. The machine is stationed at a secret location of the Space Research Center. It leaves for its missions through underground roads or its direct access, also secret. The veil of its origins is partially lifted in episode 2.
Presented as the first prototype and only example of a new generation of war machines, it is supposed to surpass everything that existed before. We are given no idea of the place and time of its construction before episode 49 where we learn that it was used to conquer Euphor. Its realization is therefore prior to this conflict.
Actarus managed to seize it under unknown circumstances and fled to Earth after destroying his pursuers with it. Goldorak was therefore apparently designed as an offensive weapon, but ultimately found itself in the role of defender of our planet. On Earth and in the French version only, Goldorak was improved by Procyon and Actarus. This is stated in episode 8.
