⛩ To reach the form of the Golden Giant Ape the Saiyan must have reached at least the Super Saiyan level, have his monkey tail and look at the full moon. Since its power is above the Giant Ape, the Saiyan's strength is multiplied. Son Goku reached this form during his fight against Baby.
As with the transformation into a basic Giant Ape, if the Saiyan could not control himself in this form, he won't be able to either in this one. The only one who managed to reach this form and control himself is Vegeta during the final fight against Shinron (Baby also managed to control himself but he was in Vegeta 's body).
When the Saiyan regresses to the Super Saiyan level, he actually reaches Super Saiyan 4.
