⛩ Luffy's Gear 4 is a technique he recently unlocked through his training, which allows him to inflate, enhance his offensive fluid ( Armament Haki ) and retract his arms, then release them. So it further increases his power compared to the Gear 3 . He normally triggers it by biting his wrist. The disadvantages of this technique are the duration (he cannot use it for very long) and the fact that he loses his Haki for ten minutes after the technique. He will use it for the first time against the great corsair Doflamingo . And the second time he used it, he managed to activate it solely through the force of his will, whereas ordinarily he bites his wrist, and while he was being controlled by Doflamingo's Parasite.
